I was watching public television. I saw a black woman sitting on a white man’s lap; she was facing him and had her legs wrapped around his waist. The camera showed the couple with a tight shot and only from mid-torso up. I knew that she was his slave and the story took place in the American South.
He took off her shirt and I looked away; I knew that I shouldn’t be watching. I looked back and saw that her breasts were very small but also very lumpy and deformed. I watched him lean down and pull her black nipple into his mouth.
I glanced away and glanced back. He was sitting back up and was chewing something in his mouth. I wondered if he had bit a piece of her breast off and was eating it. I then wondered if that was why her breasts were so deformed.
