My mom owned a bowling alley and I worked for her. Heather Armstrong of dooce.com came in to bowl a few games. She struck up a conversation with me at the drinking fountain as I was wiping down bowling balls.

A woman speaking in a non-Latin-based language and wearing a bright handkerchief on her head started yelling at someone behind me and my mom came over to escort her out. I cracked a joke about the bad service and never coming in here again; Heather laughed. I was proud that I had gotten her to laugh, this internet celebrity.

She told me that she and her family had just moved to Fairbanks. “From Utah to Florida?” I asked, then immediately knew I had made a mistake. “I meant Utah to Fairbanks, not Florida,” I tried to cover my mistake.

“Jon is doing great flying solo with the baby,” she explained, “so we moved up here.” I was happy that I would get a chance to know her and could see the two of us having many laughs by a birdbath in a field of fall leaves.

I went into a unisex bathroom with Jason. The stalls were all full save for one recently vacated by two fighting men. Jason and I argued politely over who should take the stall, in a ‘no, you first’ manner. He convinced me to take it while he sat in a waiting chair for another stall to open up.

I sat down on the toilet and realized that the stall walls were not low enough to the floor. I was barefoot. I could see quite a bit of the toilets in the stalls next to mine and worried that the men occupying those stalls could see my bum.

I repeated the dream, but this time wore black high heels. My heel kept slipping into one inch of water sitting in a small depression at the base of the toilet.

I stood with a large group of people milling around a large open space like a gym or dance floor. I recognized on man who stood next to me. I really liked his suit and complimented him on it. It was black with a classy edging detail. I wore a knee-length skirt and white sweater.

I turned back to him and noticed his jacket was dark burgundy and his shirt a slightly different lighter burgundy. I told him that his jacket clashes with his shirt and began to explain why when I noticed he was slightly embarrassed by it and asked me to stop.

I turned my attention back to the group and put my arms around his torso as I waited for instructions. It was a wedding celebration.

People grabbed each other’s hands, formed a long line, and danced in circles. He looked shocked and unprepared for the dance, but I grabbed his hand and we joined the circle.

We split into smaller circles and danced faster and faster until, at the designated moment, the person who started the circle broke it into a long line and then fell to the ground. We continued dancing around her, she still being connected to the line, until the second person fell artistically to the floor. The dancing continued until I, at the end of the line, fell down.

We call caught our breath on the ground and I got up, but noticed that the first few people in my line were still down, unmoving but still blinking. They were in some sort of a trance.

I talked with the guy a lot and fell completely for him. The dance instructor told me to put my armpit into the faces of the girls to break them from their trance. I was a bit grossed out by the idea, but did as requested and they girls got up, not knowing they had been out for a long time.

The next day I went to work and all the lights were off in the building. I lounged on the chairs thinking about the man I had met when there was a knock on the door. Someone had ordered pizza and the delivery lady thought no one was there because the lights were still off. Rachael Degraffenreid emerged from the back room and tool the pizza away.

I wanted to show this guy my special place in the woods and went off looking for him. I had to jump over a small ravine, like in a video game, to get where he was. He was just starting a quest and asked if I wanted to go with him. I took his hand and off we went to solve a maze.

I was sitting in the passenger seat of Kelli’s Jeep while she drove. She pushed her Jeep to the limit of its speed capabilities and headed directly for a building wall. She maneuvers in a way such that her car drove partway up the wall.

She grabbed a windowsill and effectively stopped the car on its tailgate. She leaned her arms out of her window and pushed on the adjacent wall. The jeep fell sideways and into a hole in the pavement. We continued down a winding, twisting tunnel that felt like a roller coaster.

We had to find the item underground and get it to the guy before the movie starts at 6:45pm. We got to the item at 6:50pm, too late to get it to the guy in time; the movie had already started. We decided to not pursue the item any more.

Melissa was in prison and I went to visit her. I stood behind the cell and saw her slumped in a chair with a hooded sweatshirt pulled over her head. There were ten or more other people sharing her cell, all of them sitting in chairs and on beds facing the front of the cell.

I came back later and sneaked into her cell, but she was gone. I sat next to Carrie, who told me that she had escaped through a crack in the back of the cell near where I had sneaked in. I planed to escape in the same manner during the night.

During the afternoon a youth group game to minister to the prisoners. The youth leader was slimy and I could tell he wanted me sexually. I sat in her chair and pulled a sweatshirt hood over my head so the nuns who ran the prison would not notice her absence. The group did many performances and finally left.

I got up, kissed Carrie’s cheek, and went to the crack in the wall. I found a skinny hidden door that opened large enough for an adult to squeeze through. I wondered why no one had used this before Melissa.

I sneaked down the hallway and prayed no one would see me. I turned down the main hallway that led to the main entrance and saw Josh Garvey also enter the main hallway. His hair was long and he had a curly beard: he had been in the prison for a long time and had just escaped.

We traveled quietly together and once outside ran as fast as we could. I could see my parents’ house just down the hill and knew that Melissa was there - I needed to see her and hug her as soon as I could.
