Dream Journal
B and I were putting on our second wedding ceremony. I was all dressed up in a white gown and very long veil. The veil was attached to a circular headpiece.
The reception was underway. There were rows of chairs with people sitting, eating cake, and talking. I was walking through the aisle of chairs and see a man sitting off to my left. All of a sudden I am furious at this man.
I reach behind my head to remove my veil. There was a small cream-colored pin that attached the veil to the headpiece; I pulled out the pin with my right hand and handed the fabric to someone on my right. The scene where I pulled out the pin replayed a few times.
I hitched up my skirt and started rushing over towards the man. I pushed people and chairs aside: I was going to beat this guy up.
Melissa called my name from behind me and told me that I had to come look. Frustrated that I had not yet reached the man, I reluctantly turned around and saw the cake and the table on which it sat was on fire.
B’s dad, who was a widower, was trying to put the fire out with his jacket. While someone else looked for a fire extinguisher.
