Dream Journal

I was in a large mansion with Melissa and a lady we both knew in the dream, yet I do not recognize her. It was this lady’s home; it had a very grand staircase and was very spacious. I really remember the tons of space. Melissa and I both felt very comfortable in the home, and awaited the arrival of Damon and Dana with their dogs. Meanwhile, we decided to make a run to the store to get groceries. We ended up at a mall, and after getting the groceries I told Melissa that I would be right back. I stopped into a car dealership and bought a car. The dealer handed me the keys, and I went outside to meet Melissa.

I told her that I had just bought a car, but I didn’t know what it looked like or where it was parked, but I had the keys. She agreed to help me look. I turned around and sitting right there was a jet-black car. It had a very smooth, sleek shape - something kin to a Corvette or a Ferrari. I was shocked at what a perfect vehicle it was, and even more shocked when I discovered that it was the one I had just bought. Melissa asked if she could drive it home, and I told her no.

At home, we waited until Damon and Dana arrived with their dogs. It was as if I was still living at my parents’ house, and they were expected for a visit. Hugs went all around, and the lady who owned the mansion took the dogs into her bedroom. Then the mansion turned into my parents’ house. I told Damon to look at the new car I had just bought. He oohed and ahhed appropriately. When dad got home from work, I showed him the new car. He took it for a test drive and was gone for about an hour.

When he returned, we all went outside for a barbecue and games - it was a beautiful summer afternoon. I looked up beside the west side of the house and saw that all of the family vehicles had been parked alongside the driveway to give the two regular spots to Damon and Dana. I ran over to the downstairs kitchen window where mom was doing dishes. I asked her if she had seen the car, and she said ‘yeah’ with disinterest.
