Dream Journal
I was a part of a large (up to 20, id say) group of people. It was nighttime, and we were all swimming in the ocean. We had just finished helping a lady and her son, but now we needed to move on in order to find a better runway so that we could take off. She said goodbye and thank you, and we swam off. Her son threw us candy as we went, and we each caught one - I felt that this was for strength on our next journey. We swam for some time, and then saw a beach to our liking. We had a race to see who could swim to the beach the fastest. I remember flailing quite a bit with all the people around. I moved to the outside of the group and did the backstroke and almost got to the beach first. I was proud of that little accomplishment.
The beach was very narrow and short and there was a sheer rock cliff at the top of it. This wasn’t what we were looking for, but we decided to stay a bit longer and gather up our rest. We rested our backs up against the cliff in a group when to our left we saw a huge creature eating a human. The creature finished then came over to our group. We were frozen stiff. The creature was super tall, and looked like a dinosaur - but I knew that the shape was only a disguise. It tried grabbing Melissa, but I yanked her further into the group just in time so it grabbed someone else and took him off to eat him.
We heard this monster explaining that the top of the beach was blocked off so he could easily get food, while the ends of the beaches were only semi-blocked off so his son could get smaller food. We then saw that the cliff was merely a huge fence to keep us on the beach. I figured that we had to get away from this monster, so I decided to run down the beach and into the water. The monster was so huge that it could have reached me instantly, but I overheard him say to the other group that it would be a good practice to have his son get that food.
I swam for a little time and then headed back to what looked like a different beach. I got out of the water and into a cave. I saw scorpions everywhere, and it was all I could do to stifle the scream. I went quickly as to avoid the scorpions when I noticed that they were all frozen still. I felt that they were terrified of this monster and his son and felt that being absolutely still they would avoid being eaten.
I realized too late that this new beach was merely an extension of the beach we were last on, and the large monster came after me. I ran into a building which was this monsters house - it was surprisingly cozy. I ran upstairs until I came to the monsters bedroom. I stepped in, and saw that the ceiling was huge as was the bed - like the creature grew at night or something. There was a ramp leading down from the door as well as a ramp leading up. I turned and kept going up. I passed through an office where a girl my age was sitting on the computer. She told me that I shouldn’t try hiding - that the monster loved a chase. But I wouldn’t listen to her.
On the other side of the office was the son’s room - this also had a ramp leading down and a ramp leading up. I went in and tried to find a place to hide. The best place I found was under the large bed, but I had to push a lot of toys and stuff out of the way. I barely fit - I had to put my feet up against the bottom of the frame to keep them hidden - then I heard the monster coming, looking for me. I tucked the blankets in around me, tensed my muscles so my feet wouldn’t slide out, and held my breath. All the noises in the room stopped. I didn’t want to believe that the monster had gone, so I stayed in my hiding spot and held my breath.
I woke up in what felt like the exact same position and I was holding my breath.
